About This

  • Beautiful - Large premium packet of Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) seed. Also known as hogweed or pigweed, purslane is a low-growing annual with succulent leaves and cheerful flowers. The juicy leaves are edible, with a peppery flavor, and rich in omega-3 fatty acids. An easy-to-grow and heat-tolerant ground cover for full sun areas. Minimum of 1 g per packet (about 2300 seeds).
  • Productive - Purslane germinates in 7-14 days when soil temps are 70-85°F. Plant 1/16” deep and space 10-12” apart in an area with full sun. This variety will grow 4-8” tall with a spread of 12-15”. Plants will mature in 45-60 days, plant in USDA zones 5-10.
  • Versatile - Purslane is an interesting and useful herb to plant in your garden. The tasty leaves provide a desirable texture and flavor, packed with beneficial nutrients. Purslane can also be grown as a filler in flower beds and containers.
  • Easy to Grow - Instructions included on each packet. Plus, we are available to answer all your questions. If these seeds don’t germinate, we will happily make it right for you.
  • Safe and Sustainable - Our operation is fully solar powered, and Sow Right Seeds has taken the Safe Seed Pledge to sell only fresh Non-GMO heirloom seeds for you and your family.
